DWDM代表密集波分复用器。这些模块将来自不同来源的数据放到光纤电缆上。这些模块通过使用紧密间隔的波长在同一根电缆上承载多个信号来进一步提高系统带宽和容量。在DWDM系统中,与CWDM相比,多路复用通道的数量要密集得多,因为DWDM使用更窄的波长间隔将更多的通道安装到一条光纤上。
