Thunderbolt 2 于 2013 年发布,是 Thunderbolt 标准的第二次迭代。与 Thunderbolt 一样,它基于 Apple 开发的 Mini DisplayPort 连接器,这意味着它兼容任何 USB 端口,而且它的电缆也不适合 Thunderbolt 3 端口。 Thunderbolt 2 的最大吞吐量为 20 Gbps,是 Thunderbolt 吞吐量的两倍,是 Thunderbolt 3 吞吐量的一半。

2. 迅雷3:
Thunderbolt 3 于 2015 年发布。它是 Thunderbolt 的最新和最快版本,可以提供 40 Gbps 的最大吞吐量。与 Thunderbolt 2 不同,Thunderbolt 3 中使用 USB Type-C 连接器,并且向后兼容 USB 3.1。它还为这些设备提供 100 W 的功率。

我们可以区分 Thunderbolt 2 和 Thunderbolt 3 端口。如果端口形状像 mini DisplayPort,那么肯定是 Thunderbolt 1 或 2。如果端口形状像 USB C,则它是 Thunderbolt 3 端口。

雷电 2 和雷电 3 的区别:

5. Thunderbolt 2 is not backward compatible with USB 3.1. Whereas thunderbolt 3 is backward compatible with USB 3.1.
6. Thunderbolt 2 is slower than thunderbolt 3. Whereas thunderbolt 3 is faster than thunderbolt 2.
7. Thunderbolt 2 port provide very low power to any connected device as compared to thunderbolt 3 port. Whereas thunderbolt 3 port can provides maximum 100 W power to any connected device.
8. Thunderbolt 2 ports do not support USB 3.1 generation 2 and thunderbolt 3. Whereas the thunderbolt 3 ports support USB 3.1 generation 2 as well as thunderbolt 3.
9. Thunderbolt 2 can support one 4K monitor per port. Whereas it can support one 4K monitor at 120 Hz or two monitors at 60 Hz per port.
10. In thunderbolt 2 protocol 4x PCI express 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 are used. Whereas in thunderbolt 3, protocol 4x PCI express 3.0, HDMI-2, USB 3.1 generation-2 and DisplayPort 1.2 are used.
