PDA 指个人数字助理，也称为掌上电脑，因为它体积更小，可以执行特定任务，可以用作日记本、个人数据库、电话或闹钟等。第一个推出的公司是 1993 年的苹果公司. 大多数 PDA 都可以通过 Wi-Fi 或无线广域网访问 Internet、内联网或外联网。它为较小尺寸的存储卡提供了一个较小的插槽。它们的尺寸更小，可以放在人的手中。当平板电脑在 2010 年推出时，他们中的大多数都不再推出新的平板电脑。
