1. Open an empty LibreOffice Calc or Writer or whatever document
2. Then click save as and save the file with the correct file format.
3. Name your template something descriptive (like LibreOffice Calc)
4. Save the file in your Templates folder which you can find under Home.

Now when you right click inside a folder you should be able to create
a new document of the type you just saved :)
