Android 4.2 是继 Google 推出的 Android 4.1.2 之后的下一个 Android 版本。此版本中添加了一些关键的用户功能，如锁屏小部件、手势输入、使用 Miracast 的无线显示和平板电脑的多用户。添加了关键开发人员功能，如垂直同步时序、三重缓冲、减少触摸延迟、CPU 输入提升、本机 RTL 支持、外部显示支持、嵌套片段、RenderScript 计算、RenderScript ScriptGroups、模糊等内置内部函数、用于高性能图像处理的 FilterScript在这个版本中。它的版本名称是Jelly Bean 。 Android 4.2 中的 API 级别为 17。它于 2012 年 11 月 13 日发布。
