Follow these steps to solve the issue:
1. Calibrate touch screen (in settings)
2. Use wet wipe to clean the screen (careful not to get it too wet)
3. Clean around the edges of the display with a toothbrush or similar bristled item
If none of the above fixed it your screen is dead and you need to replace it.
